Our Supports

  • Landlord Liaison

  • Unit Damage/Repair

  • Personal & Property Liability insurance (tenant

  • Hoarding (removal/cleaning)

Social/Emotional Support
  • Peer support paid work experience

  • Swimming and/or movie night

  • Relationship building wit police

  • Travel/clothes for funerals and ceremony

  • Medical related travel

  • Hearing circles/ role model panels/ lived experience

  • Emergency cell phones

Food Security
  • Monthly Veg and Fruit Package

  • Traditional foods Elders (monthly)

  • Traditional foods materials

  • Bi-monthly Building community lunch

Indigenous Cultural Supports
  • Craft drop in

  • Bannock & tea

  • Land based healing x4 annually

  • Bi-annual family day (Indigenous Sports)

  • Monthly language classes

  • Regalia Making (teacher/supplies/lunch)

  • Status Cards/Metis citizen cards

  • Traditional Medicines harvesting x2

  • Various Culture

Justice
  • Court travel and support

  • Court clothing

  • Visits while incarcerated

  • Care packs & pick up from corrections

Personal Living
  • Clothing for work

  • Toiletries and Hygiene supplies

  • Transportation (includes family reunification)

These 7 streams are offered to our family members who are active and currently receiving rental subsides!

Sanala Culturally Supportive Housing Society is within the beautiful rural area of the Mount Waddington Regional District, Northern Vancouver Island in Gwa'dzi (Port Hardy). "SCSHS" | "SCSH Society" acknowledges that we live, learn, and work on the land within the traditional territory of the Kwakiutl and partnership with District of Port Hardy, neighboring First Nations-  Gwaʼsa̱la-ʼNakʼwaxdaʼx̱w, G̱usgimukw, ʼNa̱mÇ¥is of the Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw People and our relative, the Métis.
